Color Photo

In this photo, the blue sets a peaceful and relaxing mood in this area. The light blue color in the sky and in the ocean lets us know it is a sunny and hot day on the beach. The photographer could have saturated the blues to create a more vibrate setting and create more of a peaceful environment.

Best of Project 2

For our second project, we were assigned to take many photographs in various techniques that many photographers use. We downloaded them into light room and picked our best three for each technique. We could edit every photo or edit the photograph that was the best for that technique. We placed all our photographs onto a contact sheet and printed them out along with our edits. We then had to post our best edits, one from each technique, onto our blog and say which technique is it.

Best of Project 1

For the first project of the year we were assigned in this class, we were assigned to take 30 photos or more of two different subjects. My first subject was the bleachers and my second subject was the Lincoln High School football field. While taking the photos we were supposed to study and understand our camera. We tried different angles and used new techniques to make the photos unique and one of a kind. We downloaded the photos to light room and played with the photos. We edited them and eventually picked out our best five photos from all of our photos we took and posted them on our blog and stated our reason as to why these five were the best.

Under the Weather
This photo appeals to me because standing underneath the bleachers shines different light patterns onto the cars and objects.  While editing this photo on light room, I made the photo black and white and adjusted the brightness to create a unique dark to light pattern.
Mirror Mirror on the Car
I chose this photo because it shows how big and long the bleachers are and how the light comes through the steps but also incorporating the car in the photo with the reflection of the bleachers adds to the subject.  I increased the temperature and upped the saturation of the blue and red car in light room to make the reflections on the cars stand out.
Colorblind
While taking this photo, I placed the camera down and began to snap different patterns of paint. I focused on the wood grain, making the objects further from the camera sharper and the objects closer to the camera blur. This created a very nice effect on the wood and paint. To edit this photo, I made it black and white and upped the shadow saturation.
Bugs Eye View
When taking this photo, I sat on the field and buried the camera into the turf, focusing onto the grass to sharpen it while the objects further away from from the subject began to blur and fade away. While editing this photo I played a lot with the contrast of the photo and sharpened the single strands of the turf.
Hiding Place
For this photo, I stood behind a pole and placed the camera lens halfway onto the pole and halfway showing the field. It stands out to me because it vaguely shows the field in the background and focuses mainly on the pole and the paint chips. I increased the saturation to make the field pop out and show its colors and sharpened the picture to make certain parts of the pole and paint chips stand out.

My Summer

Summer 2013 was a very relaxing and entertaining summer. I visited 15 states and accomplished many goals. The summer started out slow. At first it just felt like it was the weekend which grew into long days but after a week and the weather began to shape up, it hit me, summer, in my mind, officially began. I did many activities with my friends and family and visited new places in Portland that i had no idea existed. June was my month to play and relax with friends and family. In late June, my parents went on a trip down south to Nicaragua, which i did not want to join because of past experiences. My aunt and uncle came down to take care of my sisters and I. We traveled North to Seattle and visited my relatives. I tried new food the big city had to offer and played on the beach. We traveled back down to the portland airport on the Forth of July. We picked my parents up from the airport and had them relax for a few days until my we took off again on a road trip across the Northwestern States. After a week of  trips to the local park and family outings, we embarked on our road trip. We drove across Eastern Oregon and up to Washington to spend the night. We stayed the night and left early in the morning to Montana to arrive at our next destination. We drove through beautiful Glacier National Park and sight seeing. Visiting Flathead Lake was definitely something i will not forget. Entering North Dakota there was not much to see. We visited museums which we did not stay long for because us kids did not feel like learning during our break from school. My family found a North Dakotan BBQ in the slopes of the great plains. We feasted there and drove for an hour to go to sleep because the next morning was going to be a big day. That morning we drove to South Dakota and met up with life long friends from Washington. We all visited the biggest reptile zoo in the world and drove through the plains and saw wild buffalo, elk, deer, and bears. While driving to our next hotel, we got caught in the middle of a brewing storm. The storm spit hail chucks, roared thunder and split lightning. After a good nights rest we visited Mount Rushmore and drove to Wyoming. In Wyoming we all went to an old fashion rodeo and was very entertaining. The next day we drove all day back home and i got ready to leave for Indiana. Being back in portland for the few more days i had, i played outside for the majority of the time, played with friends and went to panda express very often and received my permit. I arrived to my grandmothers house in SW Portland and packed the trailer with my cousin and grandparents and left on a one month vacation to Auburn, Indiana. I have been going for the past 7 years and it takes 3 days. We drove through 8 states and visited Ohio and Michigan while we were there. I flew back alone to make it back to school and my grandparents and cousins drove back with the rest of my belongings and theirs. Summer 2013 was a very exciting summer and by far the best one i have had.
