Surrealism is a 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature that sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind. Andre Breton was a French writer and poet. He is known best as the founder of Surrealism. Some famous surrealist painters are Man Ray, Rene Magritte, Yves Tanguy, Francis Picabia, Salvador Dali, Giorgio De Chirico and Max Ernst.
